Fyrecon Policies

Fyrecon reserves the right to change the following policies at any time.

Refunds and Exchanges

Fyrecon does not offer refunds on registrations, other sessions, or merchandise for individuals age 13 and over. However, registrations or other session may be exchanged or transferred to another individual for face value only through private agreement between the original registrant and the new registrant. Once the agreement to exchange has been completed, the original registrant must email Fyrecon, assert that they’ve voluntarily transferred their registration, and provide the name and contact information of the new registrant.

Harassment Policy

Fyrecon strives to create an atmosphere where all participants are able to share creative, traditional, paradigm-challenging, and even unintentionally offensive ideas without fear of persecution. As a result, Fyrecon does not allow behaviors, actions, or language that cause excessive discomfort or disruption to other attendees. The judgement of what is excessive will be determined by the Fyrecon Organizing staff and security staff. When necessary, Fyrecon directors may be appealed to for final judgment.

Prohibited behaviors include, but are not limited to, harassment, threats, physical violence, criminal activity, public intoxication, and smoking (including e-cigarettes/vaping). At the event staff’s discretion, presenters will not be invited who promote physical, professional, or mental harm against anyone or marginalized community.

Participants are required to be courteous to others, to obey all local, state, and federal laws, and to comply with the rules and regulations of Weber State University.

Child Policy

Fyrecon encourages children to start creating early. However, in consideration of all of our participants’ children under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian present at the conference, and children under the age of 12 must remain with their parent or guardian at all times. Everyone 16 years of age and older is expected to conduct themselves as adults.

While babes in arms and children are welcome, we would request that those with loud and fussy babies or children step out into the hallway as a courtesy to presenters and other participants.

Photography and Recording Policy

Fyrecon and their agents will be conducting photography and recordings (both visual and audio) during events. By attending a Fyrecon event, participants agree to allow a royalty free, permanent license for the use of their likeness in Fyrecon advertising.

Participants who wish to individually record any portion of the presentations, classes, or panels must first obtain permission from the presenters, teachers, and/or panelists they wish to record.

Weapons Policy

Fyrecon would prefer participants to not bring weapons to the conference. We would ask you to please leave all swords, knives, bows, guns, combat potions, and any other dangerous implements and weapons at home or in your vehicles.
